{"id":132,"date":"2018-02-22T17:43:35","date_gmt":"2018-02-22T17:43:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bancosfinanzasyvalores.hdnweb.com\/?p=132"},"modified":"2018-02-22T17:43:49","modified_gmt":"2018-02-22T17:43:49","slug":"survey-9-in-10-americans-rate-their-banks-mobile-app-good-or-excellent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bancosfinanzasvalores.com\/en\/2018\/02\/22\/survey-9-in-10-americans-rate-their-banks-mobile-app-good-or-excellent\/","title":{"rendered":"Survey: 9 in 10 Americans Rate Their Bank\u2019s Mobile App \u201cGood\u201d or \u201cExcellent\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u200bWASHINGTON \u2014 Nine in 10 mobile banking users in the U.S. (87 percent) rated their bank\u2019s app as \u201cgood,\u201d \u201cvery good\u201d or \u201cexcellent,\u201d according to a new survey conducted by Morning Consult on behalf of the American Bankers Association.\u00a0\u00a0 The survey also found that 7 in 10 Americans (71 percent) use a mobile device to manage their bank account at least once per month, and 50 percent do so more than three times per month.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the survey found nearly half of mobile banking consumers (45 percent) have used a mobile device to deposit a check within the past year.\u00a0 Of those who have used mobile deposit, 62 percent use it at least once per month, with 20 percent reporting regular use of three or more times per month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConvenience has always been the main draw of mobile banking, but recent events have highlighted its importance and reliability when physically-based systems become unavailable,\u201d said Nessa Feddis, ABA\u2019s senior vice president and deputy chief counsel for consumer protection and payments.\u00a0 \u201cWhen branches and ATMs were closed or damaged by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, mobile technology helped with the early stages of recovery by enabling businesses to meet payrolls and consumers to pay their bills.\u00a0 Mobile banking has become an essential component of the banking mix, and it\u2019s something we expect to continue growing and evolving in the years ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked, \u201cOn a scale of 1-5, where \u201c5\u201d is excellent and \u201c1\u201d is poor, how would you rate your primary bank\u2019s mobile app experience?\u201d those who have used a mobile device to manage their account provided the following responses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent \u2013 35 percent<\/li>\n<li>Very good \u2013 31 percent<\/li>\n<li>Good \u2013 21 percent<\/li>\n<li>Fair \u2013 8 percent<\/li>\n<li>Poor \u2013 1 percent<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t know\/No opinion \u2013 4 percent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When asked \u201cIn the past month, how often have you used a mobile device such as a smartphone or iPad, to access and manage your bank accounts, such as check balances, deposits or bill payments?\u201d consumers provided the following responses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than 3 times \u2013 50 percent<\/li>\n<li>1-3 times \u2013 21 percent<\/li>\n<li>Never \u2013 21 percent<\/li>\n<li>I don\u2019t own a mobile device \u2013 4 percent<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t know\/No opinion \u2013 4 percent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Forty-five percent of mobile banking users replied \u201cyes\u201d when asked, \u201cIn the past twelve months, have you deposited a check into your bank account by taking a picture of the check with your mobile device?\u201d Those who responded \u201cyes\u201d provided the following responses when asked to indicate how often:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Three or more times per month \u2013 20 percent<\/li>\n<li>Twice per month \u2013 22 percent<\/li>\n<li>Once per month \u2013 20 percent<\/li>\n<li>Less than once per month \u2013 35 percent<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t Know\/No opinion \u2013 3 percent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About the Survey<\/strong><br \/>\nThis poll was conducted by Morning Consult on behalf of the American Bankers Association from August 24-26, 2017, among a national sample of 2,000 adults. The interviews were conducted online and the data were weighted to approximate a target sample of adults based on age, race\/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, and region.
